Photographics Work

I have added some new work from a course called Photographics that I took this previous semester. This class focuses on the combination of Typography and Photography. This is a much different approach to traditional photography but equally as challenging. Check out the rest of the Photographics pieces in my portfolio section under Type+Photography!

Appendectomy

Well I think there are a few people who actually view this photo blog, and I would like to than those of you that do! I apologize that there has not been a new post for quite some time. I am recovering from a recent surgery and have not been shooting or on my computer much! But I am finally feeling well again and will be back to it soon. So thanks again and please continue to support my photo blog!

New Fashion!

Well its been a few days since my last post but finals have been crazy! I will be done tomorrow and one year from graduation! This photo is part of my final project from Fashion Photography this semester. It is a series of ads for a funky clothing retailer, they're a bit strange but I had a lot of fun creating them! You can check out the whole series in the fashion section of my portfolio page!

Sneak Peak

Well its pretty early in the morning, but also finals week and ya gotta do what ya gotta do. So here is a sneak peak of the project I am working on for Fashion Photography. The whole series is just funky and weird, they are quite random but I'm having a lot of fun!

Dystopia

Inspired by a book I am currently reading called Burn by Julianna Baggott (which I highly recommend to anyone who enjoyed the Hunger Games) I wanted to create an image that looked post apocalyptic. I think there is something peaceful about the image but I also think there is a strange eeriness to the calm.

Hills and Light

I love experimenting with light and movement, you never know what the outcome will be. Its this mysterious and random aspect to these types of images that compels me to continue creating them.

Mystery Hall

Well I am terrible with building names on campus..... So I really don't know which one it is, but i loved the box shapes the building cuts into the sky and the repeating boxes throughout.

Cup Rings

Lately I have found the rings left behind by drinking cups to be very interesting. I think this will be a continuing collection. In our coffee obsessed society they usually aren't hard to find, but only a few leave behind really beautiful footprints. One must wonder how that much coffee gets on the bottom of the cup?

Shadows II

I saw this light reflection during a photo critique the other day in my building on campus. The geometry of the light and the way it seems to jut towards you, I found really amazing.

SHROOMs

I've always had a strange obsession with mushrooms... although I am allergic. There shapes colors and the way they sprout overnight has always fascinated me. I thought this cluster was especially interesting. They seemed like a family, so close and protective of each other. To bad that shortly after this they released their spores withered and died. Im sure a metaphor on life is hidden in there somewhere.

Shadows

I always find shadows incredibly interesting. They are an area where light cannot reach because of an obstruction. However this area without light is often not reflective of this obstruction. When this abstraction happens I think its so fascinating. Such as this shadow, who's obstruction is very unrecognizable.

vacation

I caught this image while hiking in the mountains of Maine. I thought this grainy desaturated look was strangely appropriate for this image, its reminiscent of an old vacation photo.

Caught

This pair caught me taking this image from across the subway tracks. I couldn't resist with that perfect spotlight above their heads!

My First Blog

Thanks for checking out Eggplant Imaging and my photo blog! I plan to blog a new photo daily (although we all know life tends to get in the way of such things) but I will at least  update several times a week. I am constantly producing work, so new pieces will be added regularly. I hope you like my work and continue to check out my site and blog. I love feedback so please share and comment to let me know what you think!
